Handmade Cards

I think giving out handmade cards to family and friends is a really great thing as it shows that you put in a lot of time to create them. But has anyone ever complained to you about receiving handmade cards?

Ooh that's an interesting question! So far I've never heard of any complaints and truth be told, I've often had to create handmade cards because I'm too forgetful to remember to buy one at the store and then it becomes a last minute thing.

Here's one card design that I liked. Though it would require more paper of different type but if you like something like this.

No one complained so far, but I do not make a lot of them anymore, since the sending letters thing kinda died down. It did tickle my brain to see if I should try and send to people christmas cards :D
Thanks for the idea :D

I love making homemade cards. I like to have my daughter help me doodle on them to give them a more personalized touch! I find that people tend to appreciate homemade cards longer than store bought ones.

I think those who have complained should NOT be receiving any gifts IMO lol
My husband used to make cards all the time. Even for others. He was quite good at designing & doing a nice poem. While I have created cards when I was little for my parents, they were simply done.

Happy Birthday to your sister! Were you able to make a card for her? I always loved making homemade cards when I was young. & receiving one was so special!

I haven't tried my hand at making handmade cards myself but I do have a grandma that has been making them for many years now and it is always nice to be able to receive a handmade card from here for either birthday or Christmas as she always put something different on each one and it's usually something that you like. I love receiving anything handmade as it's something that someone has put work and effort into rather than just going out and buying it.

Personally, I've never said no to that. If I receive a handmade card, I am very happy, because it is really a meaningful gift that people put both meticulously and sincerely into making it. There's nothing better than giving someone a personalized handmade card with heartfelt messages written by you! I think even though it's not as perfect as a gift card in a store, the recipient will appreciate and appreciate the effort to make it.

Bumping this thread in time for the Christmas season. & thanking @Ash for a great thread starter.
Have you made homemade cards for anybody lately? Is it even worth it anymore with the advent of technology? It's easy to send a card online so most may not even send it via post office anymore. Much less make a card to send.
If you do make them, who do you make them for? Any specific holiday? What do you use to make them?
