Crochet: Baby Blankets & Clothing

So, my great grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was a preteen. I gradually continued to do it into my teenage and adult years. I'm on baby number 5 (yes, it's my last one). That being said, I've never really done the crochet thing for an infant before and I am considering making her a blanket, a hat, and some booties. However, I have a fear of her fingers or does getting through and stuck. So, I guess I'm wondering if there are any actual baby/infant proof patterns out there or ways to crochet so that I don't have to worry about those things happening to my little girl?

Baby blankets are really easy! Some of the basic stitches to use would be double crochet for beginners and it would work up fairly quickly as well.
