What kind of sewing machine do you have?

I managed to score a Singer Confidence 7463, used for $50. It came with a handful of fabric samples and a travel bag. I've never actually sewed before. The closest I've ever come to sewing was a kid when my Dad would have me help him thread the needle. Figured this is a good opportunity to join a crafting forum - I can tell that I'm going to learn a lot from you guys.

So... what kind of sewing machine do you have?

I've got the Singer sewing machine though I bought it second hand for $30 when the previous owner was looking for some funds to settle some things.

I'm currently using Singer Quantum Stylist 9960 Computerized Portable Sewing Machine. I purchased it for $500 on Amazon some years ago but it's now on $432.

That is a big investment! Hope the machine is still serving you well when you make use of it to carry out your activities?

I don't remember what ours was but it was a Singer brand. We didn't use it too much & my dad's was the "traditional" one (think pedals). He used his a lot so we just gave him ours. Then if we needed something sewed, fixed, he enjoys working on the new electric one.
