Pumpking Carving

You don't need to cut all the way through a pumpkin to do your carving. My daughter used clay sculpting tools to accomplish this effect and she carved with those tools taking a little bit of pumpkin away at a time until she got the form she wanted.

It's something that I've never tried, but keep being told by friends to take my daughter to pick a pumpkin and carve it for her (she's only 2)..

Might be a bit late to do it this year though, maybe next year when she'll appreciate it a bit more!

Never thought to do that! I actually like the idea of NOT cutting all the way through. It gives it more of a, is it 2D or 3D?, effect. There are some people who are quite good at art & their pumpkin carving skills are just awesome!
