Seashell Coasters Crochet

Hook size H
100 % Cotton Yarn (Sugar ‘n Cream Earth Ombre)
Stitches used: Magic ring, Single Crochet, Half Double Crochet, Double Crochet, Treble Crochet (also called Triple Crochet) and Double Triple Crochet

Instructions:
1. Make a magic ring and chain 1.
2. 10 Single Crochets into ring.
3. HDC in the next 5 stitches, then make the 6th HDC in the same stitch as the 5th. HDC in the next 4 stitches (10 HDC total).
4. In the next stitch, make 2 Double Crochets. Continue in the next 10 stitches with 2 Double Crochets in each (22 DC total).
5. In the next stitch, make 2 Treble Crochets. Continue in the next 19 stitches with 2 Treble Crochets in each (40 TC total).
6. In the next stitch, make 2 Double Treble Crochets.
7. Cut yarn off and end by sewing both ends of yarn into the piece pulling the center tightly at the middle.

Make 3 more coasters to complete a set.

I've seen these coasters before, but I am still impressed every time I see it! That Crochet shell bag is incredibly cute too!
 
I love the little coasters. I would really love some hand knitted stuff for my home, but blankets and throws are so expensive here.

Is it because of the yarn cost? I know a lot of handmade stuff can be expensive but the yarn isn't cheap anymore and then comes in the hourly rate so most crafters barely make minimum wage.
 
I'm not really sure, but I must admit I didn't work out the logistics of manufacturing these items. I've never looked in to yarn costs, but that seems like a logical reason prices would be high!
 
I will begin by saying that I absolutely love these. I am not much of a crotchet person, but my mother loves to crotchet. I will be sharing this with my mother, I'm sure she would love this idea and will attempt to make these.
 
I love the colors on yours better than the beige ones in the video. These would be great for those who live by the ocean or at least collect seashells.
